The Leap Year Public Holiday Conundrum



This year is a leap year, which means that there are 29 days in February (if you needed to read that to know that I am not sure what to tell you – the rest of this might totally blow your mind). But, while speaking to someone at work today it dawned on me that I am now working an extra day this month, and overall this year, and I am being paid no differently than I was last year.

Now, I guess the following doesn't apply to waged staff, and maybe not even salaried staff who began their working life on a leap year, but for everyone else I think we should be given a day off on the 29th of February.

The Internet in New Zealand - Stephen Fry is right!

I appreciate Stephen Fry.
As an author, actor, and general smart-sounding-chap I think he is alright. This opinion was further solidified when yesterday he had a go at the sorry state of the Internet in New Zealand.

This is something I was planning on writing about in more detail in the future, but I couldn't miss this opportunity to have my opinion also backed by someone who is actually famous (although doesn't have any particular high ranking authority to make sweeping statements about the Internet).

So, here goes...
